PROJECT GOALS

The Modseat project aims to devise an innovative, modular, versatile and customisable regional and inter-city train seat through the use of new materials and processes.
The project seeks to meet the future demands of public transportation by building a full-scale prototype that demonstrates a cost-reduction in re-habilitation and disassembly, reduces weight, and increases comfort through innovative materials and manufacturing processes.

Smart-solutions and infotainment systems are also employed to adapt the seat to the type/level of service provided (classes, markets and their respective demands).
The Modseat project brings together companies and R&D groups in the Portuguese railway sector to showcase the know-how and technological competence of the various participants.
